Path and Inspiration
I found my way to clay as a meditative practice and creative outlet following a career as a nurse and time as a stay-at-home mum.
My inspiration comes from the grounding nature of clay as a teacher, a reverence for life and a passion to seek the beauty within it. I love the endless possibilities and learning clay brings and my workshops are designed to share this love, to connect through the simple pleasure of making by hand.
Process and Practice
I have two complementary lines of work – small batches of wheel-thrown functional homewares and hand-built sculptural pieces. I enjoy the mindful repetition of throwing and the beauty of clean lines yet find myself equally drawn to the practice of slowly shaping by hand to create organic forms. Moving between these practices allows for a balance of process and product, and a fluid, intuitive studio rhythm.
