Path and Inspiration

Jane has a BA in Fine Art (Integrated Media) and has always considered art a passion, painting and selling her seascapes for many years.  After a few pottery taster sessions while living in France, she decided that when settled in Dorset she would take up ceramics.  Seven years later and with many lessons under her belt, her personal practice has evolved, and she regularly exhibits work in the local area. 

Process and Practice

Jane's slab and coil-built vessels blur the lines between paintings and ceramics.  Using exciting glaze combinations, her unique designs are painted onto clay surfaces as artworks.  These vases are made with beautiful porcelain clays or smooth white stoneware bodies.  Each piece is inspired by nature and the colours and shapes observed from walks in the local area.
