Path and Inspiration
I studied Craft Design in Manchester and was a teacher for twenty years.
On taking early retirement, inspired by the New Forest and Dorset coast, I decided to pursue my interest in ceramic and textile art.
I am particularly inspired by British wildlife.
Process and Practice
I now work in both ceramic and textile media, sometimes combining the two disciplines.
I have a studio at the side of my house and I run community pottery groups.
I use a range of different clays dependent on whether the piece is intended for outdoors or not. My hand built sculptures are decorated with a mixture of underglazes, oxides and stains.
