Path and Inspiration
Grazyna started learning about clay from Val Murphy, an established Stoneware Potter in Hampshire. From there she went on to attend additional instructional courses in glaze and firing with Jim Robison in Yorkshire.
Sometimes it's the simple things that inspire you such as the shape and colour of an autumn leaf,
Grazyna also enjoys teaching throwing and handbuilding in her home studio and getting others started on their clay journey!
Process and Practice
Grazyna works in Stoneware clay and fires up to Cone 6. Her pieces are mostly functional and designed for domestic use. She mixes her own glazes and coloured slips with porcelain clay as a base.
Her pieces are varied and one of her favourite decorating methods is using leaves or paper as a resist to create patterns on the clay and laying coloured slips over the top to add depth and interest to the designs.
