Path and Inspiration

Cathy began as a line artist & graphic designer, balancing creative work with other jobs to pay the bills. She later taught at Bournemouth Uni & part-time at Southampton Uni. She holds a BSc. in CCI  & an MA in Animation.  Now she focuses on painting, exhibiting, & has recently fallen in love with ceramics. 

She finds inspiration from nature, literature, & movement/animation. She enjoys creating pieces that are sometimes bizarre and unusual.   

Process and Practice

Cathy works with a range of ceramic techniques. She begins with sketches, photos, and notes, then continually explores and experiments, blending slab work with other methods, such as sculpting, turning, and coiling.  Her works are then fired in her own studio.
