Path and Inspiration
I'm a ceramist with a passion for the wild!
With South African roots, I make useful objects that connect with nature through the form dynamics and the surface markings. I make objects which challenge mass production and the conventional and bring centrepieces which delight and challenge in equal measure.
I studied ceramics in Cardiff. With three fellow graduates, I started and ran a gallery and studio there for 3 years. Since then, I have worked as an art and design teacher, currently at Lytchett Minster School.
Process and Practice
I have a studio at home in Bournemouth and love using hand building techniques to create useful objects with a sculptural bias. I make a wide range of objects from large serving platters and garden lanterns, to mugs and brooches. I enjoy being part of the local ceramics community, developing my practice and exhibiting my work.
